The 1st Cantonese Applied Linguistics Conference × 9th Forum on Cantonese Linguistics (CALA-1 × FoCaL-9) Joint Conference will be co-hosted by the Cantonese Applied Linguistics Association (CALA) and the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong (LSHK), and co-organized by the Division of Languages and Communication, College of Professional and Continuing Education, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (LC, CPCE, PolyU). The conference will be held on 4 July 2026 (Saturday) at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus. We look forward to bringing together researchers to share their latest findings, exchange ideas, and foster cross-institutional collaboration.

The 2nd Cantonese Read Aloud Test (CRAT) of 2025 is planned to be held on 22th November, 2025. We offer both Hong Kong on-site and Zoom online testing options. Test fee is $500 HKD. Please sign up for the test via the register page.

If you do not want to receive the physical certificates, please reply to the email before October 8, 2025. Otherwise, the certificates will be mailed as scheduled. Candidates in Mainland China will be responsible for the SF shipping fee.
